АЛМАТЫ, 4 сен — Sputnik. Американский лидер Джо Байден поручил уполномоченным ведомствам провести ревизию и опубликовать секретные сведения о крупнейшем теракте в истории США в течение полугода. Глава государства подписал указ, который дает старт этой процедуре, сообщается на сайте Белого дома.

"В преддверии 20-й годовщины 9/11 американский народ заслуживает иметь более полную картину того, что его власти знают об этих атаках Критически важно, чтобы правительство Соединенных Штатов обеспечило максимальную прозрачность и сохранило секретность только в отдельных и необходимых случаях", — говорится в документе.

Байден поручил Генпрокуратуре, Минюсту и другим ведомствам провести ревизию имеющейся документации и обнародовать рассекреченные сведения в течение ближайшего полугода.

"Они должны контролировать рассекречивание документов, касающихся расследований ФБР относительно событий 11 сентября. Указ содержит требование к генеральному прокурору обнародовать рассекреченные документы в течение последующих шести месяцев", - сказал Байден.

Он добавил, что граждане США никогда не должны забывать "непроходящую боль семей и близких 2977 ни в чем не повинных людей, которые были убиты во время самого ужасного террористического нападения на Америку в нашей истории".
